No video this week but I do have some thoughts....
Hedging has been on my mind recently. Quite heavily actually. I will need to work not only on my sizing but the timing. I hedged once already and lost a good deal of money. That alone tells me the sizing was wrong either for the position or for the account. But if you go too far out of the money with your options and you get a reasonable move... you aren't going to be making the money needed to cover some of the losses with your account unless its a massive move. How often do those happen? I could easily loss lots of little hedges and have the same net result as one big failed hedge.
Hedging is my focus right now for my own personal education. Sooner or later a pullback will occur and I better be ready for it. I'll still be continuing my dividend screening process with a couple more videos. Hopefully some of you are finding utility in that.

Pulling it may look like that Mr. Market correction may be happening soon if it hasn't started already. Things seem hectic atm.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like we have gone from "market is up on good, bad, or no news" mode into "whoa maybe its time for a breather".
DeleteMy eye is on some SPY 150ish December puts
